Hello out there people of the internets!
I’ve done it. I’ve really done it. I’ve started my own blog. This is so exciting!
And you’re here! I can’t believe you’re here! Thank you for stopping by. You’re the coolest.
Why did I do it, start this blog, you ask? A good question. Let’s start with a cheesy quote..
Quincy Jones said the following-
“The people who make it to the top – whether they’re musicians, or great chefs, or corporate honchos – are addicted to their calling … [they] are the ones who’d be doing whatever it is they love, even if they weren’t being paid.”
I’m lucky. I have a “traditional” job that I love. But in my off time I cook, I bake and I devour food blogs. I’m addicted. And, while blogging won’t pay in dolla dolla bills, I will have the opportunity to develop my recipe writing skills, learn the art of food photography (or at least become slightly less terrible) and continue to grow relationships with others who get excited about planning three dinners around one batch of roasted chicken breast. I think I am most excited about that..about the people part. The you part!
I love the feeling of connection when another someone posts a recipe I instantly crave or reviews a cookbook that immediately ends up on my amazon wishlist. I love menu planning through my pinterest board and deciding whether to edit recipes based on other readers comments. The sense of community, the great tips and tricks, the honest reviews- I love it all! And I love getting to peek into another person’s world. So I hope you all enjoy a peek into mine.
I don’t know what the “top” looks like from here. But today, on the first day, I feel as if I’m already there.
